What is a creator bond?

A creator bond is a refundable USDG accountability deposit posted by a token creator. On MerryForge, the bond becomes refundable seven days after graduation if there is no confirmed violation or pending slash review. It does not guarantee token safety or future value. If a launch never graduates before its tier deadline plus grace, the bond may be forfeited.

Summary

  • Bonds are always USDG, tiered by graduation cap
  • Refund path starts only after successful graduation + 7-day review
  • Missed deadline + grace can forfeit the bond under policy
  • Bonds are not fees, insurance, or investment products

The creator bond helps reduce spam and impersonation. It does not guarantee token safety, liquidity, graduation, or future value.

Creator bonds are refundable only after successful graduation. If a launch does not graduate before its tier deadline plus grace period, the launch expires and the bond is forfeited.

Expired launches enter sell-only mode. New buys are disabled, but holders may sell back through the bonding curve.

Creator bonds remain USDG even when a launch raises ETH or WETH. Routing may let a creator fund the bond with another asset at creation, but storage and refund accounting stay in USDG.

Tier deadlines (from launch) are Starter 30d, Community 45d, Growth 60d, and Major 90d, each plus a 7-day grace window before forfeiture eligibility for abandoned launches.

Frequently asked questions

What is a creator bond?+

A creator bond is a USDG accountability deposit locked when a launch is created. It is sized by graduation-cap tier and is not a trading fee. It helps reduce spam and impersonation incentives but does not make the token safe.

Why does MerryForge require creator bonds?+

Bonds raise the cost of low-effort spam and brand impersonation by requiring real USDG skin in the game. They also create a post-graduation review window for policy enforcement. They are not a promise of quality or returns.

When is a creator bond refundable?+

Creator bonds are refundable only after successful graduation. If a launch does not graduate before its tier deadline plus grace period, the launch expires and the bond is forfeited.

Can a creator bond be slashed?+

Yes. Separate from automatic forfeiture for abandoned launches, moderation may hold or slash a bond when policy violations are confirmed or a slash review is pending. Traders should not treat an unslashed bond as proof of safety.
